We are looking for a Sustainability Manager for the Southeast Asia Region, based out of our Makati office in Manila, Philippines. The role will have a regional scope and will count on a small team to support projects locally. This position reports directly to the Southeast Asia Managing Director, and functionally to the Global Head of Sustainability. The Sustainability Manager will ensure our projects not only meet compliance standards but also create positive environmental and social impact in the communities where we operate.

Main Responsibilities:
- Environmental Management – Lead environmental impact assessments, secure permits, and ensure compliance with both local regulations and international standards (IFC, Equator Principles). Oversee waste, water, and biodiversity management throughout construction and operations.
- Social & Human Rights – Conduct social impact and human rights assessments, ensure community engagement and grievance mechanisms, and develop social value creation plans for local communities.
- ESG Risks & Strategy – Map ESG risks and opportunities, monitor delivery of the Sustainability Master Plan, and adapt global sustainability policies to the Southeast Asia context.
- Decarbonization & Circularity – Deploy corporate decarbonization initiatives, support carbon budgeting, and drive waste recovery and the use of recycled materials in projects.
- Sustainability Reporting & ESG Finance – Ensure reliable ESG data reporting, define local scorecards, and support financial and commercial teams with sustainability-related reporting for lenders, investors, and regulators.
- Leadership & Engagement – Represent ACCIONA Energía in sustainability forums, lead volunteering initiatives, coordinate ESG training, and promote the company’s sustainability leadership across stakeholders.
Required skills and experience:
- Knowledge of local environmental and social regulations.
- Experience conducting environmental and social assessments for renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with international standards such as IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills with local authorities.
