MAIN AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Assistant Manager for Human Resources is a key leadership role responsible for supervising the day-to-day HR operations and supporting the HR Manager in the development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives. This position acts as a vital link between HR strategy and operational execution, ensuring all HR functions are running efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with Taters Enterprises, Inc. 's business objectives. 

This role requires a blend of hands-on operational management and strategic thinking. The Assistant Manager will oversee critical HR processes including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and compliance. They are a primary champion of the company's H.E.R.R.O.I.C. values, responsible for fostering a positive, productive, and engaging work environment. Success in this role is measured by the efficiency of HR operations, the successful management of the HR team, and the effective implementation of programs that attract, retain, and develop top talent across the organization.
 

TASKS:

  1. Talent Acquisition and Management
    • Supervise the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing to onboarding, ensuring a positive candidate experience and adherence to established timelines (e.g., Time-to-Fill KPI).  
    • Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to build a robust talent pipeline for key roles across the company.  
    • Analyze recruitment metrics to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of different sourcing channels, and recommend process improvements. 
    • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company culture and are set up for success from day one.
  1. Employee and Labor Relations  
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee concerns and grievances, conducting initial investigations and recommending fair and effective resolutions in compliance with company policy and labor law.  
    • Proactively work to foster a positive and respectful work environment by championing the H.E.R.R.O.I.C. values and supporting employee engagement initiatives.  
    • Assist the HR Manager in administering the company's Code of Conduct, ensuring consistent and fair application of disciplinary procedures.  
    • Monitor the "pulse" of the organization, providing insights and recommendations to management on employee morale and engagement.
  1. HR Operations and Compliance  
    • Supervise the HR Staff in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of all employee data in the HRIS (e.g., Sprout) and physical 201 files.
    • Ensure all HR processes and policies are in full compliance with the Philippine Labor Code and other relevant government regulations (e.g., DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).  
    • Oversee the administration of timekeeping and attendance, ensuring accuracy for payroll processing.
    • Develop and generate standard and ad-hoc HR reports on key metrics such as headcount, turnover, and recruitment status to support data-driven decision-making.
  1. Compensation and Benefits Administration
    • Supervise the day-to-day administration of all employee benefits programs, including HMO, group life insurance, and statutory benefits.  
    • Act as the main liaison with benefits providers to resolve employee claims and ensure a high level of service.  
    • Assist the HR Manager in annual salary and benefits reviews by gathering market data and preparing analyses.
  1. Performance Management and Development
    • Supervise the annual performance appraisal cycle, ensuring timely completion and quality conversations between managers and employees.
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and assist in the coordination and implementation of learning and development programs. 
    • Support the company’s succession planning efforts by helping to identify and develop high-potential employees.
  1. Team Leadership
    • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to the HR Staff.  
    • Set clear performance goals for direct reports and conduct regular performance check-ins.  
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture within the HR team
 

QUALIFICATIONS | COMPETENCIES:

  • The role is primarily office-based in a professional work environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Human Resource Management, Management/Business Administration or a related field
  • Preferably a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior HR Generalist capacity. 
  • Proven experience across multiple HR functions (recruitment, employee relations) is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of Philippine Labor Law.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Sprout, Learning Management Software) and Productivity tools (MS Office Suite or Google Workspace).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (written and oral)
  • Demonstrated Presentation and Facilitation Skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve complex employee issues
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop a team.
  • Have managed sensitive employee situations.
  • Takes full ownership of HR processes and their outcomes.
